ብሄራዊ ትያትር በጣም ደስ የሚል፣ለየት ባለ ቦታ ላይ ጥሩ በሚባል ሁኔታ አርፍደው ፬ተኛው ጉማ አዋርድ ጋዜጣዊ መግለጫ ተሰጥቱል። በዚህ አመት እንደተለመደው በ18ት ዘርፍ ውድድር ይካሄዳል በጣም በቅርብ አሸናፊ ይፋ ይወጣል፤ ከ18ቱ 1ኛው ውድድርም እጩ የለውም እሱም የዘመን ተሸላሚ ነው። የዘንድሮ ጉማ አዋርድ በ14 ዘርፍ በመታጨት #መባ አንደኛ ይገኛል ሁለተኛ ደግሙ #የነገን_አልወለድም በ11 ዘርፍ እጩ ነው #ስስትሁለት እና #አትውደድአትውለድ በ7ት በመታጨት በጥምር ሱስተኛ ናቸው፤ ከእነሱ በመቀጠል እነ #ዮቶጲያ፣#ከደመና_በላይ፣#ባማካሽ፣#መንሱት፣ #ያቤፅ፣#ሀእናለ፣#ወፌ_ቆመች፣#ይመችሽ(የአራዳ ልጅ ሁለት)፣#እውነት_ሀሰት እና #ሰላም_ነው? በተላየ ዘርፍ እጩ ናቸው። የተመልካች ምርጫ ላይ ፨ይመችሽ(የአራዳ ልጅ 2)፣እውነት ሀሰት፣ወፌ ቆመች እና ሀእናለ በእናንተ ምርጫ ለማሸነፍ ይወዳደራሉ፤ የአመቱ ምርጥ ሴት ተዋናይ ዘርፍ ደኞች ከባድ ፍልምያ የሚጠብቃቸው ይመስላል ወሳኝ ወሳኝ እጩ ናቸው ፦ #እድልወርቅ_ጣሳሁ በመባ #መዓዛ_ተክሉ በያቤፅ #ፀጋነሽ_ሀይሉ በሰላም ነው? እና #ቃልኪዳን_ጥበቡ በከዳመና በለይ (ለአምስቱም መሸለም ቢቻል ያሰኛል) ሌላው 5ት አሸናፊ በኖረው የሚያስብለው ደግሙ የአመቱ ምርጥ ዳይሬክተር ነው፦ #ሄኖክ_አየለ በባማካሽ #በሀይሉ_ዋሴ(ዋጄ) በዮቶጲያ #ቅድስት_ይልማ በመባ #አብርሃም _ገዘአኝ በየነገን አልወልድም #ናኦድ_ጋሻው በአትውደድ አትውለድ (ሁሉም ምርጥ ናቸው ጠንካራ ውድድር ይመስላል) ለሁሉም ካአሁኑ መልካም እድል ብያለው ፊልም በቀዘቀዘበት የሚሸልም በተመናመነበት ጊዜ ጉማ ሳያቆርጥ አሁንም ለመሸለም ስለተነሳ የዚ ዝግጅት ባለቤት ኢቲዮ ፊልምን ማመስገን ተገቢ ነው እና እናመሰግናለን ።
The 4th Gumma awards will be held at the National Theatre on May 1st 2017 in which 18 Ethiopian movies made in the year 2015-16 were nominated for 18 different categories. To mention some of the categories in the Gumma film awards, a Lifetime Achievement, Best Film of the year, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best supporting, and many more. There is one special category, BEDELE Special Film, which will be based on public vote.
According to the organizers, this year the theme would be blue carpet event for the 4th Gumma Awards ceremony. The movies were selected based on their document completeness in the registration process and acknowledgment from The Ethiopian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, besides the movies should be on cinema at least for 1 month. Last year the Gumma award hosts anticipated 133 and this year was less by 13. Last year there were 93 movies registered for the competition but this year it was only 71. The organizers selected 18 movies for the 4th Gumma awards , 5 less than last year.
The Gumma host has mentioned that it will follow the Oscar model to judge the nominees, so directors will judge nominated directors, editors will select best editors from the nominees, producers will judge producers, etc. For all filmography categories (makeup, soundman/soundwoman, costume designer, graphics designers). More than eighty judges will participate in this year’s film award selection process
They promote cultural Ethiopian dress code and no jeans, t-shirts. There are 12 clothing designers who will be dedicated to create authentic Ethiopian traditional dresses and suits for the nominated guests and for the judges. There would be ET POL Security , one of Ethiopia's largest security companies established with the purpose of giving quality security service, at the door which checks the dress code. The host said that there would be a cocktail party and networking at the end of the ceremony.
According to the organizers, Gumma awards expects to cultivate and promote the Ethiopian film industry to the world’s standard. It has also a vision of creating a platform for Ethiopian movies to show-off Ethiopian culture, values and Ethiopian stories worldwide. The Gumma awards was created by director Yonas Berhane Mewa, the founder and owner of Ethio Films Production.
